Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-24
The rules that govern your use of Pisteo as a restaurant or bar customer, including subscription, payments, and responsibilities.
Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of Pisteo. By signing up, signing an order form, or using the service, you accept these terms on behalf of your business.
If something here conflicts with a written agreement we have signed with you separately, the signed agreement wins. Otherwise these terms apply.
1. Who we are
Pisteo is provided by Easy Host Oy, a Finnish limited liability company trading under the auxiliary business name Pisteo (aputoiminimi), business ID 3288005-7, registered office Helsinki, Finland.
In these terms we call ourselves “Pisteo”, “we” or “us”. We call you, the restaurant or bar that contracts with us, “the Restaurant” or “you”.
Contact:
- Email: hello@pisteo.io
- WhatsApp: +358 40 923 3586
2. What Pisteo is
Pisteo is a software platform that lets restaurants and bars take orders and payments from their guests on the guests’ own phones. The service includes:
- A diner-facing web app (PWA), reached by scanning a QR code at the table or opening a public link
- A restaurant admin app for menu, branding, tables, staff, kitchen routing, payouts, analytics, marketing, and reservations
- A web-based kitchen display and an ESC/POS thermal printer integration
- A Stripe Connect Express onboarding flow that lets the Restaurant accept Apple Pay, MobilePay, and card payments
- Optional features by tier, including multi-station printing, course firing, white-label, multi-location dashboard, Menu Performance Report, and inventory
We add and improve features over time. We can change, add, or retire individual features as the product evolves, as long as the core service stays available to you.
3. Account creation and authentication
The first person to sign up for a Restaurant becomes the Owner of that workspace. The Owner can invite Managers and Staff with limited permissions.
We use passwordless authentication: Google OAuth as the primary method, six-digit one-time codes by email as a fallback. You are responsible for keeping access to the email address and Google account used for sign-in.
You are responsible for everything done in your workspace by users you invite. If a user leaves, remove their access in the admin app.
4. Free trial, plans, and pricing
4.1 Free trial
New Restaurants get a 14-day free trial of the plan they pick at signup. No card is required to start the trial.
During the trial you have full access to the features in the chosen plan. If you do not pick a plan or do not enter a payment method by the end of the trial, your workspace is paused. Your data is kept available for export for 60 days, after which we delete it from production systems, except records we must retain for accounting and tax law.
4.2 Plans
The plans and monthly per-location prices as of the effective date above:
| Plan | Monthly per location | Transaction fee on in-app payments |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | €49 | 0.5% |
| Growth | €99 | 0.3% |
| Pro | €199 | 0% |
All prices are exclusive of VAT (ALV), which is added where applicable under Finnish law.
The transaction fee is collected only on payments processed through Pisteo’s in-app payment flow via Stripe Connect. Payments taken at your existing cashier or terminal are outside the scope of the transaction fee.
4.3 Founding-10 promo
The first ten paying Restaurants get 50% off the monthly subscription on their chosen plan for the first three months. Transaction fees are unchanged. The promo is per-Restaurant, not per-location.
4.4 Annual prepay discount
You can prepay 12 months in advance for a 10% discount off the monthly price. If you cancel or downgrade mid-term, the remaining months are not refunded unless the cancellation is due to a material breach by us.
4.5 Billing
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Stripe fees on those subscription charges are paid by us, not you.
Transaction fees on diner payments are deducted by Stripe Connect from each transaction as an application fee before settlement to your IBAN. You see the net amount in your Stripe dashboard and a full breakdown in the Pisteo dashboard.
Stripe’s own processing fees on diner payments are charged by Stripe directly and are separate from Pisteo’s fees. See stripe.com/fi for current Stripe pricing.
4.6 Price changes
We can change subscription prices on 60 days’ written notice and transaction fees on 30 days’ written notice, sent to the email address on file for the Owner.
If you do not accept a price change, you can cancel before it takes effect. Continued use after the new price takes effect means you accept it.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel at any time from the admin app or by writing to hello@pisteo.io.
- The cancellation takes effect at the end of the next full billing month, giving you 30 days of notice.
- Monthly fees already paid for the current period are not refunded.
- If you have prepaid annually and you cancel for our material breach not cured within 14 days, we refund the unused months pro rata.
- After cancellation, your data is available for export for 60 days, after which it is deleted from production within 30 days, except records we must keep for accounting and tax law.
6. The Restaurant’s responsibilities
You are the merchant of record for every diner transaction. You are responsible for:
- The accuracy of your menu, including item names, descriptions, prices, allergens, and VAT rates
- Setting the correct VAT rate per item (default in Finland: 13.5% food and non-alcoholic / takeaway, 25.5% alcohol; confirm and adjust as needed)
- Issuing receipts in line with the Finnish receipt law (kuittilaki) and other applicable tax law
- Fulfilling every order placed through Pisteo
- Handling guest complaints, refunds, and disputes about the food, drink, and service
- Compliance with food safety law (Elintarvikelaki), alcohol service rules where applicable, and any other laws that apply to your business
- Setting up and securing your own Stripe Connect Express account
- Keeping admin user access up to date
Pisteo is not a party to the contract between you and your diner. We provide the technology.
7. Pisteo’s responsibilities
We commit to:
- Operate the service with reasonable skill and care
- Target 99.5% monthly availability, excluding scheduled maintenance, which we announce in advance
- Keep your data logically isolated from other Restaurants’ data using per-tenant access controls
- Respond to support requests sent to hello@pisteo.io within one business day during Helsinki business hours (Mon to Fri, 09:00 to 18:00)
- Treat critical outages (full payment or ordering failure) as priority and start work on them as fast as reasonably possible, regardless of hour
- Apply security measures described in the Data Processing Agreement
- Notify you of any personal data breach affecting your data without undue delay and within 24 hours
We do not offer a formal Service Level Agreement with service credits in V1. We can agree a separate SLA in writing for enterprise accounts.
8. Payments through Stripe Connect
Pisteo is a platform on Stripe Connect. You, the Restaurant, are the merchant of record for every diner transaction.
- Funds from diner payments settle directly to your IBAN via your Stripe Connect Express account, on Stripe’s standard payout schedule.
- Pisteo never touches the money. The transaction fee is deducted by Stripe as an application fee before settlement.
- During onboarding you accept Stripe’s Connected Account Agreement directly with Stripe. Stripe runs the KYC and KYB checks on your business.
- If Stripe puts a hold, freeze, or termination on your connected account, we cooperate with Stripe and help you respond, but we cannot override Stripe’s risk decisions.
9. Diner data and marketing list
The diner email marketing list is yours.
- Diners opt in on the receipt screen. The opt-in is to your restaurant, not to Pisteo.
- You can export the list at any time as CSV from the admin app.
- We do not sell, share, rent, or market to your diner list. We do not use it to market other Pisteo Restaurants to your diners.
- You are the data controller for the list. Pisteo is your processor. See the Data Processing Agreement.
10. Acceptable use
You may not use Pisteo to:
- Sell goods or services that are illegal under Finnish or EU law
- Process payments for businesses other than the Restaurant identified in your account
- Send spam or unsolicited marketing to anyone who has not opted in
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy our software outside the rights we grant you here
- Interfere with other Restaurants’ workspaces or with the service itself
- Misrepresent allergen information, VAT, or prices in a way that misleads diners
We can suspend access if we reasonably believe a workspace is being used in breach of these rules. Where it is possible without making the situation worse, we tell you first.
11. Your data and your menu
- You own your content. Your menu, item photos, branding, opening hours, table layout, staff list, transaction records, diner email list (where consent has been given), and analytics data are yours.
- License to us. You give Pisteo a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide right to host, process, display, and transmit your content as needed to provide the service to you and your diners.
- No resale. We do not sell or rent your data, your menu, or your diner list.
- Export. You can export your data from the admin app in CSV or JSON at any time.
12. Pisteo’s intellectual property
We own the Pisteo software, brand, logos, and any improvements we make to the platform. You get a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your subscription is active. You may not copy, resell, or reverse engineer the software outside the limits of mandatory Finnish law.
13. Confidentiality
Each side keeps the other side’s non-public business information confidential and uses it only to perform under these terms. This obligation lasts for three years after termination.
14. Warranties and disclaimers
We provide Pisteo “as is” with reasonable skill and care. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose beyond what these terms describe.
This does not exclude any rights you have as a business under mandatory Finnish law.
15. Liability
To the maximum extent allowed by Finnish law:
- Neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses, including loss of profit, loss of goodwill, loss of data beyond what can be restored from the latest available backup, or business interruption.
- Each side’s total aggregate liability under these terms is capped at the total fees paid by the Restaurant to Pisteo in the 12 months immediately before the event that gave rise to the claim.
- The cap does not apply to: breach of confidentiality, breach of data protection obligations, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, infringement of the other party’s intellectual property, or amounts due as fees.
16. Indemnification
You agree to defend and indemnify Pisteo against third-party claims that arise from:
- Your menu content, including allergen, price, or VAT errors
- Food and drink served by your business
- Your handling of diner complaints, refunds, or disputes
- Your breach of these terms or of applicable law
We will defend and indemnify you against third-party claims that the Pisteo software, used as agreed, infringes a third party’s intellectual property in the EU.
17. Term and termination
- These terms apply from your signup or the order form date until terminated.
- Either side can terminate for convenience on 30 days’ written notice, effective at the end of the next full billing month.
- Either side can terminate immediately for material breach that is not cured within 14 days of written notice, or on the other party’s insolvency.
- On termination your access ends. Your data is available for export for 60 days, after which we delete it from production within 30 days, except records we must retain by law.
- Fees accrued up to the termination date are payable.
18. Force majeure
Neither side is liable for failure caused by events outside reasonable control, including general internet outages, third-party service failures (Stripe, Cloudflare, Railway, Resend, Anthropic, OpenAI), strikes, pandemics, war, or government action. The affected side must notify the other and use reasonable efforts to mitigate.
19. Dispute resolution and governing law
These terms are governed by Finnish law, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are resolved in the Helsinki District Court (Helsingin käräjäoikeus) as the court of first instance.
If you are a consumer or a microbusiness with mandatory consumer protections under Finnish kuluttajansuojalaki, your rights under that law are not affected by this clause.
20. Changes to these terms
We can update these terms by giving 30 days’ written notice to the Owner’s email on file. If you do not accept the change, you can cancel before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
21. General
- Notices. We send notices to the Owner’s email on file. You send notices to hello@pisteo.io.
- Assignment. You may not assign these terms without our written consent. We can assign them as part of a corporate reorganisation or sale of the business.
- Entire agreement. Your order form (if any), these terms, the Data Processing Agreement, and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement between us.
- Severability. If a clause is unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- No waiver. Failing to enforce a clause once does not waive the right to enforce it later.
